Description


Christina Matz, Associate Professor of the Boston College School of Social Work and Director of the BC’s Center on Aging and Work, will present on a new study supported by the Daisy Foundation: The Acceptability, Feasibility, and Refinement of a Group-Based Social Connection Lifestyle Intervention to Reduce Loneliness in Older Adult Caregivers. The study focuses on the health of older adult informal caregivers of people living with dementia—whose ability to remain at home often depends heavily on caregiver support. Recognizing that caregiving can heighten loneliness and isolation, the team at BC is testing a six-week online, group-based social connection lifestyle intervention.
