This session, presented by Nicole McGurin, will explore the Alzheimer’s Association’s evolving focus on brain health and what it means for communities across Massachusetts. We’ll begin by reframing Alzheimer’s as not only a disease of aging, but one influenced by modifiable risk factors and opportunities for early action. Participants will review the latest science on brain health and risk reduction, along with key initiatives the Alzheimer’s Association is advancing to promote prevention, early detection, and public awareness. The session will conclude with a discussion on how Dementia Friendly Massachusetts communities can play a critical role in supporting brain health through local engagement, education, and inclusive, health-promoting environments.
