Easthampton|McLean Workshop From Isolation to Connection: Empowering Older Adults

Easthampton|McLean Workshop From Isolation to Connection: Empowering Older Adults

Monday, May 18, 2026 (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Loneliness, isolation, and grief can deeply impact the health and well-being of older adults—but community has the power to change that. This interactive training invites participants to explore how small shifts in approach can create meaningful connections and a stronger sense of belonging.

Through engaging discussion and practical activities, you’ll discover ways to foster connection, support emotional well-being, and build self-efficacy—helping older adults feel more confident, engaged, and valued in their communities. You’ll leave with realistic, actionable ideas you can bring back to your center right away.

About the Speakers: This training is led by Ana Trueba Yepez, PhD, Psychology Clinician Researcher at McLean Hospital’s Division of Geriatric Psychiatry and Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and Marie Clouqueur, LICSW, Program Director of the GUIDE Model and Caregiver Services at McLean Hospital’s Geriatric Outpatient Clinic.
