AGO 101 | General information about what the AGO does, duties of CED, and general information about the divisions in the agency. |
Landlord-Tenants Rights | Training that covers the rights and responsibilities for both tenants and landlords specifically what landlords are responsible for vs what tenants are responsible for, types of tenancy agreements and what makes their lease terms different, minimum housing conditions, subletting, evictions, and who enforces each topic. |
Savvy 18: Know Your Rights as an Adult | Training that covers the basics of new responsibilities like voting, jury duty, employment as a legal adult, taxes, and general information regarding MA laws on housing and auto care. |
Savvy Senior | A more targeted training for seniors that provides an overview of the most common forms of senior scams, contacting the AGO's Elder Hotline, and how to prevent/react to identify theft. |
Social Media and Mental Health (Undergoing updates now) | Cyber security information directed at youth and parents to educate them on the effects of social media and mental health, cyber bullying and preventative measures, and information on online privacy. |
Unauthorized Practice of Immigration Law | Trainings specifically covering proper legal representation for immigrants, the difference between legal advice from an immigration attorney vs unlicensed legal advice, immigration attorney scams and how to detect them, what to do if you become a victim of an immigration lawyer scam, and resources for legal help. |
Workers' Rights | Training that covers the legal rights as an employee (18+), what the minimum wage is, restaurant/server wages, common violations, legal deductions, how to earn sick-time and what it can be used for, employment discrimination, and protections for immigrant workers who are undocumented. |
Working Teens' Rights | Training that covers the legal protections and roles of workers under the age of 18, what the minimum wage is, restaurant/server wages, common workplace violations, legal vs illegal paycheck deductions, and an overview on MA Child Labor Laws. |
