Administrative Assistant - Ashland
The Town of Ashland’s Community Center is seeking qualified applicants for an Administrative Assistant. This position is 36 hours per week and works under the general direction of the Senior Services Director. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for the Community Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist Director of Senior Services with day-to-day operations of the Senior Center
Serve as the first point of contact for the Community Center departments, screening calls and greeting visitors.
Provide customer service in person, via telephone and email.
Maintain transportation program; scheduling rides for bus drivers
Collecting and processing payments for a variety of programs and generating deposits.
Assists with program registrations and managing records and files.
Enters monthly events, activities and programs using My Senior Center Database.
Maintain spreadsheets for all accounts.
Pays bills for the department using the Munis system.
Assists with volunteer training.
Compiles payroll information.
Generates monthly reports.
Perform a variety of related duties as required.
Maintains Medical Equipment Loan Program.
Maintain confidential material with appropriate sensitivity as it relates to the members.
Assists in proofreading & distribution of monthly Newsletter.
Maintains all office equipment and supplies
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A High School Diploma, or equivalent is required. One to three years of administrative and/or related experience is required; experience in dealing with seniors is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for listed requirements at the discretion of the hiring authority.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent clerical and administrative skills. Must have strong computer skills, proficiency in Google Workspace and MS Office required. Experience with My Senior Center software and MUNIS is a plus. Must have excellent customer service and problem resolution skills. Must be able to establish and maintain effective work relations.
May be required to lift objects such as files, boxes of papers, various office supplies, and durable medical equipment, weighing up to 30 pounds.
