Director of Senior Services

The Town of Wellesley is seeking an innovative, forward-thinking leader to serve as its next Director of Senior Services (35hrs/week), supporting the older adult population of Wellesley in the new state-of-the-art Tolles Parson Center (TPC).
This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals currently employed in older adult services or those with experience leading an older adult–focused organization or business. Current directors, assistant directors, and Council on Aging supervisors, as well as leaders of non-profit and senior services–based organizations, are encouraged to apply.
Wellesley is conveniently located just 17 miles west of Boston and is easily accessible by connecting major highways and commuter rail. Approximately 6,500 of its 29,000 residents are aged 60 and over. The Town of Wellesley has historically valued services to its older adult population, demonstrated through strong public and private financial support and a network of supportive organizations.
Responsibilities:
 • Develop and evaluate programs, activities, services, and outreach initiatives at the TPC and in the community
 • Recommend future programs and activities
 • Foster a warm and vibrant environment at the TPC
 • Develop and implement policies and procedures in conjunction with the Council on Aging Board
 • Oversee and manage the department’s operating and capital budgets
 • Apply for grant funding
 • Administer operations, programs, and services
Requirements:
 • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in gerontology, social work, human services administration, or a closely related field
 • Experience in a management role, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
 • Extraordinary customer service skills and ability to interact effectively with the general public
 • Proficiency in budget preparation and financial data management
 • Ability to make informed decisions and communicate complex financial information to the COA Board and town stakeholders
 • Excellent oral and written communication skills
 • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
 • Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and prioritize workflow
 • Ability to present complex statistics and information
 • Strong computer skills
Hiring range:
 • Anticipated Hiring Range: $110,160 – $148,716 DOQ.
