The Council on Aging is looking for an Outreach Coordinator to join our team! Under the general direction of the Council on Aging Director, the Outreach Coordinator performs professional and administrative work in communicating the programs and services of the Charlton Council on Aging to meet the needs of and enhance the quality of life of the Town’s senior population. Performs home visits to seniors of Charlton in order to assess needs and communicate programs.

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Requires high school education or equivalent with some coursework in Social Work, Human Services, Health Services, or related field; one or more years of experience working with the seniors; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license
• First Aid and CPR Certifications
• Basic knowledge of programs and services related to the senior population.
• Ability to use initiative, tact and judgement when interacting with the seniors.
• Ability to interact with seniors in an empathetic and sensitive manner.
• Ability to set priorities and work independently in the completion of tasks.
• Ability to prepare materials and communicate programs.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Excellent oral/written communication and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal skills and interest in the care and support of the seniors.

Proficient computer skills.

Superior resourcefulness and discretionary skills.

Hiring Pay Rate: $24.84/hr. – $27.42hr. depending on qualifications.
