The Town of Franklin (population, 33,000) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill the role of Line Cook to join our team at the Franklin Senior Center. Under the Supervision of the Chef and Kitchen Manager, the Line Cook is responsible for assisting the Chef and Kitchen Manager with the daily functions of the Common Grounds Café. The Line Cook will also assist with organizing large-scale events and special functions, including tasks such as preparation, cooking, setup, and assisting with evening event preparations as scheduled. 

These functions include, but are not limited to, preparing and cooking meals according to menus and recipes, ensuring food safety and sanitation, overseeing volunteers, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The Franklin Senior Center has a full-size industrial kitchen to run the “Common Grounds Café”, which serves low-cost breakfast and lunch to seniors in the community. The position requires extensive public contact with seniors. 

The ideal candidate will have excellent organization skills and be able to multi-task effectively and communicate clearly and effectively. The Line Cook and Café Assistant must be patient and kind with a friendly, helpful demeanor and excellent customer service skills. This is a part-time (19 hours/week) hourly position. Hours may shift depending on the needs of the Senior Center.
