Job Title: Meals on Wheels Logistics Coordinator (Part-Time Contract Position)
Hours: 12 hours/week – Tuesday – Friday 7AM – 10AM (3 hours)
Location: Center for Active Living (CAL), 44 Nook Road, Plymouth, MA 02360

Position Summary

The Meals on Wheels Logistics Coordinator is an essential contracted position responsible for skilled manual work in managing the daily operations of the federal nutrition program (Meals on Wheels) at the Center for Active Living. This role ensures the efficient and safe execution of food service activities.

This position involves close collaboration with volunteers and the CAL Café culinary team.

Contract is eligible for annual renewal at the beginning of each new Fiscal Year, pending performance and mutual agreement.

Key Responsibilities Include: 

Receive food deliveries from purveyors, organize and manage volunteer packing stations efficiently, pack food items as needed to support program demand, drive Meals on Wheels routes as required to cover deliveries.

Greeting and checking in all Meals on Wheels drivers, verifying route accuracy before dispatch, utilizing basic administrative skills, including email, data entry, and proficiency in Word and Excel.

Health, Safety & Inventory Management:

Oversee and enforce health and sanitation practices among volunteers, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations. Maintain inventory control and manage the maintenance of the Meals on Wheels service area.

Qualifications & Requirements: 

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Prior experience in food services required.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications (if not already held).
  • Must obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days of the hire date (if not already held)
