Program Assistant

We are seeking a Program Assistant with excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and events.

This position is 25 hours a week with benefits. Hours: Monday, Thursday 9:30-4:00 pm and Tuesday, Wednesday 9:30-4:30 pm, with a half hour unpaid lunch break. 

Essential Functions:

  • Assists with department wide promotion, planning, and implementation of department programs and events.
  • Develops and oversees wellness, education and cultural programs and events. 
  • Works with staff and volunteers to implement programs and special events.
  • Accept and consider program feedback, comments and ideas from participants.
  • Monitor programs held off site.
  • Answer phone calls and inquiries from vendors, instructors and participants
  • Provide support for program activities, such as preparing materials and resources, coordinating logistics, and communicating with participants, vendors and instructors.
  • Assist with program outreach efforts, such as social media and email marketing campaigns.
  • Perform industry research to stay up-to-date with best practices and inform the development and enhancement of programs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records and data.
  • Other duties as needed to run programs.
  • Set up room or program space prior to program start time.

Education and Experience: or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Associate’s degree and two years of experience in assisting with the planning, organizing and implementation of programs.

Special Requirements: 

  • CPR and First Aid certified, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Must be able to pass a CORI Check.

Rate is $24.00/hr. with benefits
