Part-Time Council on Aging Activities Coordinator
The Town of Holbrook is seeking a creative, engaging, and community-minded individual to serve as the Part-Time Assistant Council on Aging (COA) Coordinator. This non-exempt, part-time position (up to 19 hours per week between the hours of primarily- but not strictly 9:00am and 3:00pm) supports daily operations at the Holbrook Council on Aging.
Working closely with the COA Director and COA Coordinator, the Assistant Coordinator will take the lead on developing and delivering vibrant programming, and fostering a welcoming environment for COA members. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating opportunities for connection and learning, brings fresh ideas, and thrives in a collaborative team setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and lead engaging programs, activities, and classes based on community interests and personal strengths.
• Contribute ideas for new initiatives that support wellness, creativity, and social connection.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of events, classes, and activities.
• Assist with meal service and cleanup in the COA kitchen as needed.
• Greet visitors, answer phones, and respond to general inquiries.
• Learn and support use of the MySenior Center platform.
• Conduct outreach to promote programming and build community partnerships.
• Schedule appointments and perform administrative support tasks as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with flyers, newsletters, and communications.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the COA Director.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in programming, community outreach, education, or working with seniors preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity and confidence in leading activities for small or large groups.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications; willingness to learn new systems.
• Friendly, dependable, and adaptable demeanor.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with event setup and breakdown.
Compensation
• Hourly Wage: $23.82
• Schedule: Part-time, up to 19 hours per week.
• Benefits: None (position is non-benefited).
