About the Role:
As Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering broad programs that support the diverse interests and needs of our senior population. You will oversee a robust calendar of educational, health & wellness, recreational and social activities, as well as intergenerational programs in collaboration with other town departments and local partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a variety of programs that promote active aging, personal enrichment and community engagement.
- Manage event logistics, including scheduling, budgeting and promotion.
- Oversee the development of newsletters, social media and other communications to keep the community informed and engaged.
- Work closely with Town staff, volunteers, vendors and local and regional organizations to ensure programs meet the evolving needs of seniors and their families.
What We’re Looking For:
- A dynamic leader with experience in program development and management, preferably in a community/senior center or elder services-based organization.
- Strong communication skills, including experience with vast community relations.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to build relationships across departments and community organizations.
Recommended Minimum Qualification Education, Training, and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; two to 5 years of experience in developing and/or managing programs, preferably in a municipal environment with senior citizens; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements/Licenses: Knowledge, Ability, and Skill: Knowledge: Working knowledge of the principles and practices of program management. Ability: Ability to: listen, observe, and interact positively and effectively with seniors, staff, and the general public; communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; develop and maintain harmonious relationships with town and school officials, community organizations, and the general public; be trained and perform CPR and basic first aid. Skill: Operates personal computer and general office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Compensation: Pay range is $33.07-$43.64 per hour; hiring range is $33.07-$38.00. This is a benefit eligible position with generous health insurance options and paid leave as well as a flexible and supportive workplace environment.
