The Town of Stow Council on Aging is looking for a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a full-time (37.5 hours per week), benefit-eligible Senior Van Driver. This role is vital to our team and is essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our transportation services, contributing to the well-being and independence of our clients. The Senior Van Driver operates to ensure the safe transport of elderly and disabled passengers to various destinations in nearby communities. Some major city and out-of-state driving may be required for field trips. Grade 4 of the Town’s Salary and Compensation Plan, with an expected hiring hourly rate of $27.35 - $28.73/hour, depending on qualifications and experience, with benefits, including health, dental and paid time off. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM. Applicants must have an excellent driving record as generated by the Registry of Motor Vehicles, a knowledge of surrounding towns and be able to read maps and use a GPS. A High School Diploma and three to five years of related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and certification is required. Punctuality, a focus on safety, mechanical skills, and a friendly and courteous manner are important. The individual must have the ability to maintain confidentiality. Previous experience and an interest in elder care is preferred. A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
