Title: Medical Van Driver

Location: Center for Active Living, Hingham, MA

Status: Part-Time, ad hoc/as needed basis, non-benefitted, non-union

Grade: X-14

Salary: $21.70 per hour

Duties:

Duties: Working under the general direction of the Transportation Coordinator, the employee is responsible for the safe and timely transport of persons 60 and older and handicapped to medical appointments and other trips within Hingham and surrounding communities in Town-owned vehicles. Person is required to perform a variety of tasks at the Center for Active Living when transportation needs are slow.

Requirements as follows:

Ability to:

• Perform driving duties according to the daily schedule of rides

• Fuel and clean transportation vehicles

• Operate a wheelchair lift equipment necessary to accommodate scheduled rides.

• Immediately report all incidents or problems to the Transportation Coordinator and/or his/her designee

• Keep open communications with the Transportation Coordinator and/or his/her designee and report anything unusual or different with vehicle and/or passengers immediately at time of incident

• Participate in Departmental driver training and other training as required

• Perform other tasks as assigned

Special Requirements: A candidate for this position must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to clear a CORI and driving record inquiry.
