The town of Upton seeks to fill the full-time Elder & Social Services Department Specialist position. This position reports to the Director of Elder and Social Services at the new state-of-the-art Upton Community Center. This is a public facing role that directly impacts the lives of seniors and residents in need.
The Department Specialist is responsible for a variety of skilled administrative, technical, and financial tasks to support the daily operations of the Senior Center and other departmental initiatives. Work includes clerical and recordkeeping duties, including accounting, billing, payroll, tracking donations, and data entry. Receive visitors, answer inquiries, schedule & coordinate activities such as transportation, programs, and other department services. Maintain calendars of programs and facility use, office supplies, and inventory. Maintain MySeniorCenter software and assist seniors with daily needs.
The minimum qualifications are an associate degree, preferably in business coursework, and 6 – 18 months of related experience in office administration or any equivalent combination. Proven aptitude with Microsoft-related programs is required. Full Salary Range: $21.90-$30.00/hour.
