
Transportation Coordinator/Administrative Assistant

The Town of Lincoln - an organization that believes that workforce diversity strengthens performance, integrity, trust, and partnerships with our staff, boards, committees, community, and guests - is seeking to fill two part-time (20 hrs./wk.) positions within our Council on Aging and Human Services Department. We invite qualified applicants to apply for these positions separately, or together as a paired full-time (40 hrs./wk.) position. Both positions are described below:
Transportation Coordinator/Administrative Assistant
Under the direction of the Council on Aging & Human Services Director, this position is responsible for providing administrative and operational support work for COA&HS, with primary responsibility for the COA&HS transportation department, including daily and advanced scheduling of passengers and communication with drivers.
The Transportation Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for transportation services, coordinating rides for clients and managing volunteer drivers. They will assist clients with information and application assistance for alternative transportation options including the RIDE, Medicaid PT1 transport, Go Go Grandparent, Lyft, and Uber when COA&HS transportation is not available. Additional responsibilities include maintaining medical equipment, coordinating volunteers, creating program materials, and providing general administrative support to the department.
College degree preferred; degree in human services (e.g. gerontology, social work, psychology) preferred; minimum of three years' experience working in a related field preferred; experience with elders and/or disabled individuals required. Valid driver's license and vehicle required; satisfactory result of criminal background check required; excellent social, interpersonal, customer service, listening, observation, teamwork, written and oral communication skills required. Town Social Worker
Under the direction of the Council on Aging & Human Services Director, this position is responsible for providing comprehensive social work services, including case management, assistance with benefits, and support services to residents. The Town Social Worker will serve as a vital resource for individuals and families in need of assistance and intervention.
The Town Social Worker will provide information and referrals to a wide variety of town departments and outside agencies, conduct intake assessments, case monitoring, and crisis intervention. They will maintain liaison with schools, police, fire, board of health, courts, clergy, physicians, and other town providers while helping to identify "at-risk" individuals and families. Additional responsibilities include assisting with benefit applications, maintaining accurate case records, making home visits, and holding office hours at community settings.
Master's degree in social work or equivalent mental health field with a focus on children and families preferred; bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, gerontology, sociology, or equivalent human service field required; LICSW preferred; minimum of three years of progressive experience working with individuals and families or in a related human service field required. Valid driver's license and vehicle required; satisfactory result of criminal background check required; excellent interpersonal and computer skills required.
