Van Driver – Natick Connector (Part-time)

The Town of Natick seeks a qualified individual to serve as a van driver for the Council on Aging’s accessible transportation program. The position is part-time and non-benefited. 

Shift:  Monday and Fridays, 8:00-4:00 pm, 16 hours

Essential Functions:

• Operate Natick Connector mini bus and/or van
• Drivers are provided a daily route schedule and special instructions. 
• Drivers pick up and drop off passengers at their scheduled destinations, exercising independent judgment throughout their shift.
• Operate the wheelchair lift on the vehicle.
• Drivers complete a daily vehicle inspection.
• All drivers are required to successfully complete a two (2) day training class and are subject to random mandatory drug screening.
• Attends one-day recertification training every two (2) years.

Requirements: 

• Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
• Strong interpersonal skills 
• Ability to attend two (2) day training program (The two-day paid training program includes First Aid/CPR certification, wheelchair assistance, driver training, passenger assistance, defensive driving, and more. Training held in Framingham.)
• Ability to drive an eight (8) hour shift
• Ability to assist passengers into and out of the vehicle 
• Ability to carry groceries to/from the vehicle and push a wheelchair. 
• Experience working with older adults and persons with disabilities.

Starting rate is $20.00 per hour
